MINSK, 5 July (BelTA) – Second-seed Aryna Sabalenka of Belarus made her first Grand Slam quarterfinal at Wimbledon after beating Elena Rybakina of Kazakhstan 6-3, 4-6, 6-3 in the round of 16 clash at Wimbledon, BelTA has learned.
In the last eight the Belarusian will face Ons Jabeur of Tunisia. The Belarusian earlier defeated Romanian Monica Niculescu in the opener, British Katie Boulter and María Camila Osorio Serrano of Colombia.
Belarusian Ilya Ivashka lost to Italian Matteo Berrettini 4-6, 3-6, 1-6 in the round of 16 match of the gentlemen's singles.
