MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk will play the first of two home games in their regular championship series of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) on 24 January, BelTA has learned.

The Minsk Bisons will host HC Shanghai Dragons. The game will see the visitors’ new head coach, Canadian specialist Mitch Love, make his debut. The coaching change was prompted by the team’s five-game losing streak. HC Dinamo Minsk have recently returned from a road trip where they secured two wins in four matches. Currently, the Minsk club sits in third place in the Western Conference with 63 points, while the Dragons are ninth, trailing ten points outside the playoff zone.

This season, the representatives of Belarus and China in the KHL have already faced each other three times. Both matches at HC Shanghai Dragons’ “home” venue in Saint Petersburg ended in favor of the Chinese side (3-2 and 2-1), while at the Minsk-Arena, the Bisons won in a shootout 2-1. The fourth and final meeting between the teams in the current regular championship will start at 5.00 p.m.
