HC Dinamo Minsk to continue road trip with clash against HC Sochi

MINSK, 25 February (BelTA) – HC Dinamo Minsk will play their third game of a road trip in the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) regular season on 25 February, BelTA has learned.

The next opponent for the Minsk side on their road trip is HC Sochi, a team that has lost its chance to qualify for the Gagarin Cup playoffs. The southern club sits at the bottom of the Western Conference standings with 40 points. The Minsk Bisons, in contrast, have nearly double that number (78 points) and hold third place in the rankings. The Minsk club has earned points in seven of their eight games in February, securing five wins during this stretch. The team began its road trip with a shootout loss to HC Lokomotiv Yaroslavl (4-5), but then bounced back with a victory over HC Torpedo Nizhny Novgorod (4-3).

The Sochi side, meanwhile, has lost six of their seven matches in February. Their previous game, scheduled against HC CSKA Moscow on 23 February, was not completed due to an security concerns in the city. The Minsk Bisons and the Sochi players have met twice this season in Minsk, with the Minsk team securing decisive victories in both games (8-2 and 5-2). The first head-to-head match of the championship between HC Dinamo Minsk and HC Sochi on Russian ice is set to start at 7:30 p.m.
