MINSK, 31 August (BelTA) - Maksim Strokun of Belarus clinched the 90kg silver at the 2025 World Judo Cadets Championships in Sofia, Bulgaria, BelTA has learned.
The Belarusian defeated Dimitrios Giannakos of Greece and Lithuania’s Majus Genys, proved stronger over Serbia’s Nemanja Simic in the quarterfinal, and beat Apti Utsiev from Russia in the semifinal. In the decisive bout, Maksim Strokun lost to Russia’s Abdula Suleimanov.
The world sporting forum in Bulgaria gathered more than 550 athletes from 71 countries. Belarus was represented by eight judokas.
