MINSK, 2 February (BelTA) - Brazil is interested in boosting potassium fertilizer supplies from Belarus, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Brazil to Belarus Bernard Klingl told the media following his meeting with Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko on 2 February, BelTA has learned.
“We want not only to continue supplies of Belarusian potassium fertilizers to our country but also to increase them,” said the diplomat. He pointed out that Brazil, where agriculture is actively developing, has a great need for fertilizer supplies. “We know that Belarusian fertilizers are of very high quality, and in Soligorsk, in our opinion, they produce the highest quality potassium fertilizers for us,” the ambassador said.
According to him, the entire spectrum of bilateral interaction was discussed during the meeting with the head of state. Regarding cooperation in the agro-industrial complex, the issue of supplying Belarusian agricultural machinery was raised. “Belarus produces very high-quality machinery that is a good fit for Brazilian farmers. So, we could be talking not just about supplying this machinery, but also about setting up local production in Brazil,” Bernard Klingl said.

As for the trade and economic cooperation between the two countries, in January-November 2025, the trade reached nearly $766 million, increasing by almost 25% compared to the same period in 2024. Belarusian exports account for a substantial portion - over $700 million, a 30% increase compared to the same period in 2024. Exports to Brazil mainly consist of potassium and nitrogen fertilizers, X-ray equipment, linen fabrics, control or measuring instruments, and profile projectors. Belarus’ imports from Brazil are primarily specific goods, coffee, frozen beef, acyclic alcohols, and juices.
