Maslenitsa, fish soup festival, cultural events. What’s on Belarus’  tourist calendar for February

MINSK, 3 February (BelTA) - February in Belarus will feature Maslenitsa celebrations, fish soup festival, and music festivals. BelTA, citing the website of the National Tourism Agency, reports on the events included in the Winter in Belarus 2025-2026 calendar.

The last winter month is the time for Maslenitsa. Rural estates, tourism facilities and museums have prepared interactive programs. Guests will be treated to folk performances, traditional games (round dances, contests, burning of the effigy), and tastings of pancakes with herbal tea. Travel agencies have put together themed tours, which will begin in mid-February.
Celebrations are planned in cities and districts, mostly on 21 and 22 February. In the Belovezhskaya Pushcha National Park, the Maslenitsa festival on 21 February will be combined with an event to bid farewell to the Snow Maiden. The program includes concerts, folk games, fairs, craft workshops, and a field kitchen.

In Volkovysk, the celebration is named Pancake Maker’s Day. It will begin with a bright, spectacular theatrical performance and will continue with the competitions and sports events among local enterprises, organizations, and institutions. In Korelichi, they will select the Spring Beauty and hold the Pancake Fantasy competition. Organizations and enterprises will attempt to bake the tallest stack of pancakes.

The folklore festival Ulasye in Luki will be held in the agro-town of Luki, Korelichi District. This is a signature event of Korelichi District. Previously it was called the Horse Festival. Locals dress up “as gypsies”, harness a troika, adorn the horses and ride a decorated cart around the village with songs and music – “the longer the circle you make on horseback, the longer the flax will grow.” The festival program includes a theatrical procession-performance, a competition for the best-decorated cart, a fair, traditional games and amusements, a master class on horse harnessing, and more.

On 14 February, the Morino Goldfish fish soup festival will take place in the agro-town of Morino, Ivie District. The program includes a meeting with a fairy-tale wish-granter, a concert by amateur creative groups, fun competitions, and games. The highlight of the festival is the tasting of fish soup prepared according to various signature recipes.

Pinsk will host the February Musical Evenings festival, which has been a staple here since 1994 attracting lovers of both classical and contemporary music. Rossony will hold the events to commemorate the birthday of Pyotr Masherov and Berezovka in Lida District - the regional youth pop music festival-competition Crystal Chime. At the end of the month, Vitebsk will host the night-time interactive multi-genre festival SUPREMSHTORM_NIGHT.
