Belarus’ Karaliok 2nd at Russian Road Cycling Championship

MINSK, 23 September (BelTA) – Yauheni Karaliok of Belarus finished second in criterium at the 2024 Russian Road Cycling Championship, BelTA has learned.

Criterium is a group circuit race through the streets of the city. This year’s event took place in Grozny. The total distance of the race was 54km. The athletes drove 18 laps of 3km each. Yauheni Karaliok scored 41 points to place second. Savva Novikov from Tula Oblast (49) celebrated the victory with 49 points. Third came in Artemii Khomiakov from Moscow (28). The top ten also included two more Belarusians - Nikita Tur placed fifth and Kiryl Gutsko - ninth.

In the multi-day race “Friendship of the Peoples of the North Caucasus” that ended earlier in the capital of the Chechen Republic Yauheni Karaliok won three stages out of 13. Mikita Tur finished ninth in the overall standings.
