MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – A demonstration battalion-level tactical exercise involving live shooting for a mechanized unit of the 6th Independent Guards Mechanized Brigade took place in the military training area Gozhsky in Grodno District, representatives of the Belarusian Defense Ministry told BelTA.
According to the Defense Ministry, in several training sites participants of the exercise practiced defensive action, the organization of interaction and all-out support in the course of preparations for and an actual defensive action, breaking off combat, and the application of unmanned aerial vehicles. Apart from that, methods of controlling the firefight were practiced using various means of communications in addition to counterbattery fire using special software, the delivery of ammunition to the combat contact line while dealing with the enemy’s FPV drones, the application of intelligence forces and assets for the sake of hard-kill actions against the simulated enemy, the control over affiliated artillery units, and tactical medicine.
Commander of the Western Operational Command Vadim Surov supervised the exercise. He noted that the event took place in the final days of the 2024-2025 academic year. “We want to demonstrate all the cutting-edge things that have been mastered over the year to commanding officers of army units so that they could pay attention to the matters the exercise has covered during the next academic year. Participants of the exercise practice their skills of using and counteracting unmanned aerial vehicles, the organization of all-out support for combat operations, and the control over defensive action,” Vadim Surov said.
