MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – Belarus observed a sun halo and light pillars in the sky. A sun halo is a phenomenon that occurs in frosty weather, in cirrus clouds or "diamond dust" (tiny ice crystals near the ground), resembling a nimbus or aureole. It can take many forms, including circles, parhelia (mock suns), and light pillars. Light pillars appear at temperatures of -10°C and below, during light snowfall and when there is a source of light, such as the Sun or the Moon.
