MINSK, 30 July (BelTA) – Chairman of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus Igor Sergeyenko took part in the inauguration ceremony of the President-elect of the Islamic Republic of Iran Masoud Pezeshkian, BelTA learned from the press service of the House of Representatives.
Igor Sergeyenko is in Iran on a working visit upon the instruction of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko. The Belarusian parliamentary delegation that arrived in Iran also includes Chairman of the Standing Commission on International Affairs of the House of Representatives Sergei Rachkov.
Upon arriving in Iran, Igor Sergeyenko held several brief meetings in the building of the Islamic Consultative Assembly, which is the Iranian parliament, on 30 July.
The Belarusian parliament speaker also attended the inauguration of Masoud Pezeshkian. The ceremony was held at the Islamic Consultative Assembly in Tehran. Pezeshkian took an oath of office in the presence of parliamentarians, members of the Guardian Council and the head of the judiciary. The ceremony was attended by high-ranking officials from almost 80 countries.
