“During the session, the MPs kept a high pace of international activities. We reached a new level of political interaction with China by signing an agreement on a high-level committee on cooperation between legislative bodies. The agreement base of the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus was expanded with cooperation agreements with the parliaments of Cuba and Kyrgyzstan,” Vladimir Andreichenko said. “At the invitation of the Belarusian parliament, parliamentary delegations from Kyrgyzstan and Nicaragua paid visits to Belarus for the sake of strengthening friendly relations. International meetings were held with the first vice president of Iran, the prime minister and chairman of the parliament of Cuba, and the minister of foreign affairs of Venezuela. Online talks were held with counterparts from Azerbaijan, Venezuela, Vietnam, Kazakhstan, China and Colombia.”

Cooperation with integration structures of the post-Soviet space was actively developing as well, primarily through the Parliamentary Assembly of the Union State of Belarus and Russia, the Parliamentary Assembly of the Collective Security Treaty Organization, and the Inter-Parliamentary Assembly of the CIS Member States. “This lets us strengthen the defense capability of Belarus, establish close cooperative ties, create conditions for the uninterrupted, efficient operation of domestic producers, and therefore to maintain a decent standard of living for our citizens,” the speaker emphasized. “On the sidelines of the 147th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union in Angola, meetings were held with delegations from countries in Africa, Latin America and Southeast Asia. Such contacts help promote the country's peaceful foreign policy and confirm its image as a reliable trade and economic partner.”
