MINSK, 25 July (BelTA) - The final declaration of the SCO Media and Think Tank Summit has been adopted, BelTA has learned.
“We recognize the vital role of the SCO in fostering good-neighborliness, friendship, solidarity, and mutual trust among regional countries, in safeguarding regional security and stability, and in promoting shared prosperity and development,” the document read. “SCO media and think tanks should fully leverage their roles as bridges and bonds, jointly telling the SCO story well and highlighting its achievements. We must contribute wisdom and strength to advancing peace, stability, prosperity and development both regionally and globally. We affirm that strengthening strategic alignment and deepening political mutual trust are crucial to ensuring the SCO's sustained and steady development as well as safeguarding the security and development interests of SCO countries. SCO media and think tanks should intensify efforts to promote awareness and understanding of each country's national realities, development paths, and strategic priorities. By fostering enhanced communication, bridging differences, building consensus, and reinforcing mutual trust, we can help safeguard one another's core interests and build SCO home together.”

Safeguarding regional security and stability is both a collective responsibility of SCO countries and a necessary choice in jointly addressing global challenges, the document noted. “In the face of an international landscape fraught with changes and turbulence, SCO media and think tanks should champion the Global Security Initiative, amplify the SCO's propositions and actions in maintaining peace and stability, and foster an environment conducive to building a balanced, effective and sustainable security architecture that ensures regional stability and world peace,” the summit participants remarked. “SCO media and think tanks should support the Global Development Initiative by collectively articulating compelling narratives about economic integration, interconnected development, and shared prosperity among SCO countries. Efforts should focus on expanding consensus on cooperation, enhancing alignment of development strategies, and creating favorable conditions for respective national prosperity and modernization.”
“We are confident that this summit will strengthen exchanges and cooperation and foster broad consensus among SCO media and think tanks. These efforts will reinforce regional solidarity, collaboration, development and revitalization, inject fresh momentum into the creation of a closer SCO community with a shared future, and contribute to the building of a peaceful, stable, prosperous and beautiful home,” the document said.
