MINSK, 1 October (BelTA) – Minsk played host to a meeting of the expert group to finalize the draft concept for military cooperation among the CIS member states until 2030, BelTA learned from the CIS Executive Committee.

The meeting was attended by representatives from Belarus, Kazakhstan, Russia, Tajikistan, the Secretariat of the Defense Ministers Council, and the CIS Executive Committee.

The experts reviewed the comments on the draft concept submitted by the member states. Following discussions, they refined and approved the document. It will now be submitted for formal consideration at an upcoming meeting of the CIS Heads of State Council. The draft cooperation concept outlines a medium-term framework of the CIS countries' shared views on the goals, principles, primary tasks, mechanisms, and main areas of interaction in the military sector.

The provisions of the document are designed to ensure the continuity of the CIS's multilateral military cooperation and its further development as an integrated system. This will be achieved by improving organizational and legal mechanisms, developing forward-looking programs and joint projects, and implementing practical collaboration in both traditional and new, relevant areas.
