BREST, 29 November (BelTA) – Brest Oblast will host more than 80 fairs in the run-up to Christmas and New Year, the main directorate of trade and services of the Brest Oblast Executive Committee told BelTA.
The first holiday fairs will open on 1 December. A wide range of New Year’s products will be available, including ornaments, gifts, and themed items. Food courts will become a major highlight, featuring dishes like pancakes with various toppings, grilled meat, and hot drinks. Brest has prepared fun activities for children, including amusement rides at the fairs.
“The sale of Christmas trees (fir and pine trees) will start on 17 December at over 40 locations in cities and district centers. According to the Brest state production forestry association, about 22,000 Christmas trees are expected to be supplied to the market of Brest Oblast, including over 1,100 potted trees and 1,000 festive bouquets,” the main directorate of trade and services noted.
Brest Oblast plans to hold over 900 sales exhibitions and expanded sales events, about 50 tasting events in December.
Catering establishments are accepting applications for corporate holiday parties, offering customized menus and entertainment programs. “Catering organizations are taking pre-orders for bakery, confectionery, culinary products and semi-finished products. All confectionery shops will extend their operating hours during the pre-holiday period. In general, more than 200 organizations are planning to extend their working hours,” the main directorate of trade and services informed.
A complete selection of popular holiday items will be offered, such as poultry, eggs, New Year gifts, sweets, champagne, sparkling wines, and canned peas and corn. For example, wholesale depots in Brest Oblast stock 6 to 32 types of champagne and sparkling wines, about 43 varieties of New Year gifts from domestic producers. Stores also offer a wide range of New Year ornaments and souvenirs.
