MINSK, 17 April (BelTA) - Belarus participated in Nowruz holiday celebration, which was held at the Secretariat of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) in Beijing, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Foreign Affairs Ministry.
The event was held under the motto: Nowruz at the SCO: 25 Springs of Friendship and Cooperation.
This day symbolizes the renewal of nature, rebirth and the beginning of a new life cycle, reminding us of the importance of family ties, friendship and mutual understanding.
Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Belarus to the People’s Republic of China Aleksandr Chervyakov, SCO Secretary General Nurlan Yermekbayev, Deputy Chairman of the SCO Committee for Good Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation of China Cui Li and honored guests visited the national pavilion where they sampled Belarusian home cuisine dishes and got familiar with handicraft products.
The celebration featured performances by artistic groups from SCO member countries, which made the event more special.
Accompanied by Ivan Finsky, a laureate of international competitions, talented student of Belarusian State University of Foreign Languages Aleksandra Chuyeshova performed the song Belovezhskaya Pushcha in four languages: Belarusian, Russian, Chinese and English.
