Belarus’ Security Council’s representative satisfied with 38th paratrooper brigade’s readiness

BREST, 15 February (BelTA) – The 38th Independent Guards Air Assault Brigade is in the highest state of readiness for the duration of the ongoing snap inspection of Belarus’ Armed Forces. The units of the Special Forces Command in Brest under review are ready to carry out missions, BelTA learned from Sergei Kuprik, Advisor to the State Secretary of the Security Council.
In line with the Armed Forces’ combat readiness inspection plan upon the decision of the head of state the 38th brigade was brought to the highest state of readiness on 10 February. The paratroopers had to pass a tactical and special training exam during the first stage. An evaluation of their firearm qualifications and physical fitness qualifications began after that.

“They completed a series of tactical qualifications and tasks. They handled them successfully. They began conducting qualifications in firearms training and physical fitness. Yesterday they passed their physical fitness qualifications with flying colors. They did pull-ups in combat conditions in the open air. It should not be any other way for paratroopers. Today they are going through a 5km forced march with full gear. Tomorrow they will continue with qualifications in firearms training by shooting from armored personnel carriers and small arms during the day and at night. A realistic picture will be reported to the head of state as a result,” said Sergei Kuprik.
He assessed the combat readiness of the Brest paratroopers. “It can be said without a doubt that the units under review are ready to carry out their missions,” emphasized the advisor to the state secretary of the Security Council.

The days of the inspection were marked by unstable weather, which manifested itself in frost, snow, thaw, rain, fog, and ice. Sergei Kuprik emphasized that it should in no way affect the accomplishment of tasks by military personnel. “If the weather is bad, will we not defend our Motherland? Out of the question. We must carry out our tasks in any conditions,” noted the advisor to the state secretary of the Security Council.

BelTA reported earlier that the large-scale inspection of the Armed Forces began on 16 January upon instructions of the Belarus president. The primary goal is to see an objective picture, a real state of the troops, and evaluate actions of the military personnel.
