MINSK, 22 October (BelTA) – Russian President Vladimir Putin and U.S. President Donald Trump are discussing a new dividing line between the Global West and the Global East, economist and analyst Serghei Banari said in a new episode of the V Teme [On Point] project on BelTA’s YouTube channel.
“The talks in Alaska went beyond the Ukrainian issue. In Alaska, they discussed the strategic future, which involved the issue of the entire post-Soviet space and drawing a new dividing line between the modern Global West and the Global East. From my perspective, the post-Soviet space lies within the strategic sphere of interest of the Russian Federation, and Moscow regards it as a question of its national security and interests,” Serghei Banari said.
According to the analyst, the position of Brussels and “those clowns who voice it” is being disregarded in this issue. “Forgive me for the ‘clowns,’ but I have no other words for these people. The things they say defy all common sense,” he added.
