MINSK, 7 February (BelTA) – Belarus has set the amount of money prizes athletes will be paid for winning medals at the Olympic, Paralympic and Deaflympic Games. Belarus President Aleksandr Lukashenko signed the appropriate executive order on 6 February, BelTA learned from the press service of the Belarusian head of state.
Belarusian athletes who win medals at the 32nd Summer Olympic Games and the 16th Summer Paralympic Games 2020, the 24th Summer Deaflympic Games 2021, the 24th Winter Olympic Games and the 13th Winter Paralympic Games 2022, and the 20th Winter Deaflympic Games 2023, will get money bonuses.
Belarusian Olympians will earn 12,000 base amounts (Br324,000) for a gold medal, 6,000 base amounts (Br162,000) for a silver medal and 4,000 base amounts (Br108,000) for a bronze medal. Money bonuses for medals won at the Paralympic and Deaflympic Games will make up 4,000, 2,400 and 1,600 base amounts respectively.
Coaches and other sport specialists taking part in the Olympians' training will be also paid some 20% to 100% of their rewards (depending on their participation).
