MINSK, 9 June (BelTA) - Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko emphasized close kinship ties between Belarus and Russia’s Kaliningrad Oblast as he met with Governor of this Russian region Aleksey Besprozvannykh in Minsk on 9 June, BelTA has learned.
“The people of Kaliningrad Oblast are our kin people. We have always known this. If it were possible to count how many Belarusians there are among Russians and other nationalities there (but this is impossible to do, and I have never done this before), then the overwhelming majority would probably be Belarusians,” said Aleksandr Lukashenko.

Aleksey Besprozvannykh noted that his delegation alone included three members of the Kaliningrad Oblast government who were born in Belarus. “We share common history. We are kin nations,” he emphasized.
