Ways to invigorate contacts between private sectors of Belarus, Kuwait discussed

MINSK, 8 November (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mikalai Barysevich had a number of bilateral meetings when he visited Kuwait to participate in Belarus-Kuwait ministerial consultations, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs press service told BelTA.

Mikalai Barysevich met with the co-chair of the Kuwaiti part of the Belarus-Kuwait commission on economic, trade, and technical cooperation, Acting Deputy Minister of Finance Asil Al Saad Al Menaifi. The importance of fully resuming the commission's work was emphasized. Belarus' proposal to arrange a session of the commission in H1 2022 was approved. The meeting also touched upon matters concerning the organization of the commission's work and the agenda of the next session.

Mikalai Barysevich met with Chair of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry Mohammad Al Sakr. Ways to invigorate contacts between the private sectors of Belarus and Kuwait were discussed. The possibility of organizing a visit of a delegation of Kuwait's private sector representatives to Belarus ahead of the next session of the Belarus-Kuwait commission on economic, trade, and technical cooperation was discussed. The Kuwaiti side confirmed they are ready to intensify contacts with the Belarusian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, including taking into account the delivered invitation for the head of the Kuwait Chamber of Commerce and Industry to visit Belarus.

Mikalai Barysevich also discussed progress in building the Grodno Oblast Cancer Detection and Treatment Center with Director General of the Kuwait Fund for Arab Economic Development Marwan Al Ghanem. Prospects of the fund co-financing another socially oriented project in Belarus were also mentioned.
