Makei urges to work further to resume travel between Belarus, Russia

MINSK, 10 November (BelTA) – Belarus and Russia are discussing efforts to further resume travel between the countries, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at the annual meeting of the Russian-Belarusian ministerial collegium in Moscow on 10 November, BelTA has learned.

The minister informed that the ministerial collegium meeting discussed joint efforts to minimize damage from the coronavirus pandemic. Earlier, the parties had agreed on lifting all restrictions on air travel. “Everyone saw the positive impact of this decision. Today we need to fully resume railway traffic between our countries,” the foreign minister said.

“We also seek to make traveling by road easier. This is extremely important for Belarusians and Russians. Of course, all this should be done as carefully as possible, taking into account the epidemiological situation and other factors,” Vladimir Makei added.
