Maduro: European nations owe debt of gratitude to Soviet Union for liberation Nazism 

MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) - European nations owe a debt of gratitude to the Soviet Union for their liberation from the Nazi regime in 1945, Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro said upon his arrival in Russia, TASS reports.

“Europe should be grateful to the Red Army and the Soviet Union that liberated it from Nazism and fascism. It was the Red Army that liberated Europe,” the leader of the Bolivarian Republic said

Nicolas Maduro called the victory that the USSR in 1945 the greatest, emphasizing that the Red Army's triumph was “the victory of all humanity.”

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro arrived in Moscow on 7 May on an official visit with his wife Cilia Flores. He is scheduled to hold talks with his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin and participate in events dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War.

Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro emphasized that the Venezuelan delegation's participation in the Victory Day celebrations in Moscow underscores deep respect and admiration for the people of the former Soviet Union and the Soviet Union’s pivotal role in defeating Nazi Germany in 1945.
