MINSK, 12 December (BelTA) - The next meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council will be held in Dushanbe on 30 May 2025, BelTA learned from the press service of the CIS Executive Committee.
The decision was announced at the meeting of the CIS Heads of Government Council in Moscow on 12 December. The agenda of the meeting included 10 items. The heads of government exchanged views on topical issues of economic interaction in the Commonwealth of Independent States.
The heads of government approved a memorandum on cooperation in the field of digital transformation of the transport industry, signed an agreement on cooperation in the development of civil shipbuilding and production of ship component equipment, and an agreement on personnel training for penitentiary services. The relevant program of cooperation for the period up to 2030 and the action plan to it signed by the CIS Heads of Government Council are aimed at promoting dynamic interaction between the CIS member states in the field of groundwater research and protection, exchange of open data and knowledge about them, monitoring of transboundary groundwater bodies, human resources development, education and training in the field of hydrogeology.
The participants of the meeting adopted a plan of priority action in humanitarian cooperation for 2025-2026. The document consists of 10 sections, including more than 200 measures, and is designed to coordinate multilateral cooperation in education, science, culture, information and mass communications, book publishing, book distribution and printing, sport and healthy lifestyles, tourism, and youth work.
2025 has been announced in the CIS as Year of Peace and Unity in the Fight against Nazism,dedicated to the 80th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and 2026 as the Year of Health.
The prime ministers also considered issues related to obstacles in mutual trade of the CIS member states, financial support of the activities of the CIS bodies.
