MINSK, 22 June (BelTA) – Belarus and the United States are discussing full normalization of relations, Belarus UN Ambassador Valentin Rybakov told the media. The diplomat took part in the meeting of Belarusian President Aleksandr Lukashenko with U.S. Special Envoy for Ukraine Keith Kellogg in Minsk, BelTA has learned.
When asked in what vein the bilateral relations between Belarus and the United States were discussed, the diplomat said: "First of all, final normalization of bilateral relations is on the agenda: full normalization with the resumption of full operation of the embassies in both countries, exchange of visits and so on."
Sanctions are among priority issues for Belarus. “We constantly reiterate that sanctions are completely illegal. These are unilateral sanctions, imposed in violation of all norms of international law. This issue is being discussed and we are trying to find some solutions, Valentin Rybakov noted.
