MINSK, 19 January (BelTA) – Consul General of Belarus in Istanbul Yevgenia Bortkevich took part in the 7th DEİK Commercial Diplomacy Awards held at the Istanbul Lütfi Kırdar International Convention and Exhibition Center on 19 January, BelTA learned from the Belarusian diplomatic mission in Istanbul.
The event was dedicated to the conclusion of elections in DEİK’s 153 business councils and served as a platform to summarize the work of the business councils for 2025 and define priorities for the next period. Following the elections, new leaders were appointed, including for the Turkish side of the Belarus-Türkiye business council under DEİK.
Turkish Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat delivered a welcoming speech, in which he emphasized the contribution of business diplomacy to the growth of Türkiye’s exports and the achievement of the target of nearly $400 billion in foreign trade. During the ceremony, the business councils that showed the best results in developing international contacts, investment projects, and promoting exports received awards.
