MINSK, 17 December (BelTA) – Belarusian First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Sergey Lukashevich and Deputy Foreign Minister for Political Affairs of Iran Majid Takht-Ravanchi held the seventh round of political consultations in Tehran on 17 December, BelTA learned from the Belarusian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The parties discussed the state and prospects of relations, elaborated on mechanisms to deepen mutually beneficial trade and economic cooperation and exchanged views on the global agenda. The parties also touched upon the situation in Ukraine, Syria and Afghanistan.
Sergey Lukashevich also met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran Abbas Araghchi. The meeting addressed topical matters of interaction between the foreign ministries of the two countries and the schedule of visits at the highest and high levels. The two sides exchanged views on promising areas of joint work within international organizations.
At the meeting with Industry, Mining and Trade Minister of Iran Mohammad Ali Dehghan Dehnavi, the parties discussed the agenda of the 17th meeting of the Belarus-Iran commission on economic cooperation, due to be held in Minsk in January 2025.
