MINSK, 16 February (BelTA) – All parties need to be sincerely willing to resolve the conflict in eastern Ukraine, Belarusian Minister of Foreign Affairs Vladimir Makei said at a press conference in Minsk on 16 February, BelTA has learned.
“It is crucial to respect the agreements that were reached back then. I mean the Minsk agreements. Very important and serious agreements were reached then to resolve this complicated situation in eastern Ukraine,” the minister said.
In his words, the parties reproach each other for not complying with these agreements. “We believe it is now up to Kiev to act. Kiev does not keep its promises, does not fulfill the agreements it has signed. All the parties need to show goodwill and try their best to cut this Gordian knot. There should be a sincere willingness from all the parties to resolve the matter,” Vladimir Makei stressed.
