
The year 1960 marked a milestone for Belarus when sylvinite, a key raw material for potash fertilizers, was hoisted to the surface for the first time. Today, 65 years later, mining has expanded from Soligorsk to the new site in Petrikov. The evolution of the mining over these years has been documented by BelTA.
