‘Product must sell itself’. MART explains how producers can make it recognizable

MINSK, 6 February (BelTA) – Belarusian Deputy Minister of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade Svetlana Korotkevich explained to journalists how Belarusian producers can make their goods recognizable, BelTA has learned.

She emphasized that Belarusian goods sell well, and that is the most important thing. “They sell not only within the country but are also known far abroad, not only in neighboring states. Today, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade (MART) has once again decided to meet with the trade industry and producers at the Belarusian Quality seminar, primarily dedicating it to the State Quality Mark,” said Svetlana Korotkevich.
Belarusian trade organizations work very actively with domestic goods. “Food products are sold to a greater extent, but non-food groups also stand on the shelves, attracting buyers. Accordingly, work in this direction never stops, because there are certain trends, certain brands that have already proven themselves on our market. Producers approach the creation of goods very seriously, releasing new products. They are not standing still,” the deputy minister said.

Svetlana Korotkevich gave recommendations to producers: “Our advice to producers is to master product positioning for self-sales. Shelf placement is just the first step; the goal is instant recognition. Until producers themselves focus on this aspect, there may be issues, given the extensive range of products available in every category today. It is offered by a large number of producers. For a product to become recognizable and beloved by the consumer, marketing activities, advertising, and close cooperation directly with the trade industry are essential.”
To promote domestic goods, the Ministry of Antimonopoly Regulation and Trade is implementing the project Every Friday – Domestic Goods. “The Belarusian Quality seminar is one of the landmark events organized as part of the campaign to make our products popular, although they already are popular, but it is still necessary to draw consumers’ attention to the fact that we have worthy enterprises. It is also held to find additional sources of inspiration. Today, we decided to gather such a wide group of producers and trading companies to work through these issues in even greater detail. And if any issues arise during the interaction, to solve them,” Svetlana Korotkevich said.
