MINSK, 7 May (BelTA) – Plans are in place to built or reconstruct over 650 infrastructure facilities in the next five years, with total financing of over Br20 billion, Belarusian Prime Minister Aleksandr Turchin said as he delivered a report in the House of Representatives in Minsk on 7 May, BelTA learned.
“In general, over 650 infrastructure facilities are planned to be built and reconstructed in the country over the five-year period. The total funding exceeds Br20 billion. These include 34 hospitals, 23 kindergartens, 27 schools, 22 sports and recreation centers and other facilities,” the prime minister said.

Transportation between the regions will be improved, he noted. “More than 24,500km of roads will be built and repaired with investments of about Br13 billion. We will create high-speed road links to connect ‘agro-town - district center - regional center’. For example, the travel time from Minsk to any satellite town will take up to half an hour, while from a community center to the regional center - an hour and a half,” Aleksandr Turchin said.
