MINSK, 15 January (BelTA) - Tatiana Kharlap, who was appointed head of the Administration of the China-Belarus Industrial Park Great Stone on 15 January, outlined the development prospects for Great Stone, BelTA has learned.
“The People's Republic of China is not merely our business partner but also a great friend. Therefore, our work will naturally be built, first and foremost, on these premises. I believe you are well aware that the idea of the Great Stone was championed by the heads of state: our president and the Chinese leader. Our leaders set the tone, and we must follow it,” Tatiana Kharlap noted.
The new head of the industrial park's administration pointed out that prior to her role as Consul General in the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region, People's Republic of China, she worked at the Economy Ministry. “It so happened (perhaps it was a fateful moment) that I was involved in preparing the regulatory framework for the Great Stone. As cliché as it may sound, I will now be working on implementing what we drafted and put together,” she added.

Tatiana Kharlap noted that as of today, 171 residents are registered at the Great Stone park. “I would like to point out that a record number of residents (34) were attracted last year. Regarding the capital structure, currently there is roughly an equal number of companies with Belarusian and Chinese investments. The remaining companies are from 14 other countries, both near and far abroad," she emphasized. “Over $1 billion from various funding sources has already been invested in the park. Most importantly, they are operational. Modern, first-class infrastructure has been built within the park, and over one-third of the residents have commenced their core operations - the very purpose for which they were established. Therefore, the job of the park administration is to provide comprehensive and high-quality services to these residents, enabling them to implement their projects more swiftly and allowing our economy to benefit from their contributions.”
