Joint plans of Belarusian and Mordovian enterprises outlined

MINSK, 20 October (BelTA) - Before the start of a meeting of the working group on cooperation between the Republic of Belarus and the Republic of Mordovia of the Russian Federation, Belarusian Taxes and Duties Minister Dmitry Kiyko detailed specific projects with Mordovia, BelTA has learned.

A representative delegation from Mordovia has arrived in Belarus for the second time since 2023. This demonstrates the mutual interest of both sides in cooperation, said Dmitry Kiyko, who is a point man in the Belarusian government for cooperation with this Russian region. “During this period, in my assessment, we have advanced from initial acquaintance to specific projects. The delegation includes representatives from over 20 companies, including top executives and enterprise managers. During the visit, particular attention is being paid to the flagships of Belarusian industry, such as MTZ, MAZ, and BelAZ," he noted.

According to the minister, during the visit to the Atlant plant, the parties discussed two promising areas for cooperation. Representatives of Mordovian enterprises are already working on specific projects. “Cooperation with the Brest Electric Lamp Plant, which already purchases bulbs of various modifications from Mordovia, has also gained momentum: a representative of Mordovia visited the plant to discuss further cooperation and the production of joint goods, with the aim of meeting the needs of the Belarusian market and potentially promoting them to external markets," the minister added.

Furthermore, specific proposals have been drawn up for a number of Belarusian enterprises including Osipovichi Transport Engineering Plant, Mogilev Railway Car Building Works, Mogilevliftmash and others. Negotiations are underway to establish joint production facilities.
Overall, cooperation is developing actively and covers numerous areas, he added. “Today’s visit is not only about building on what we have already accomplished but also about creating new joint ventures and import substitution projects, which is a logical next stage of interaction,” the minister emphasized.

Business negotiations between representatives of Belarusian and Mordovian enterprises and organizations were held in Minsk today. According to Dmitry Kiyko, the goal is for businesses and enterprises to communicate, find new projects and solutions, and cooperate for mutual benefit. “This is precisely the synergy we are striving for today,” he noted.
A meeting of the working group on cooperation between Belarus and Russia’s Mordovia was held to review cooperation issues. The main topics of discussion were the development of the industrial sector, agricultural corporations, and healthcare, with focus on joint measures for the development of youth and patriotic movements.
