MINSK, 24 January (BelTA) – Belavia Airlines and Siberia Airlines (S7) will consider launching direct flights between Minsk and Novosibirsk, BelTA learned from the website of the Belarusian Transport and Communications Ministry.
During the visit of a Novosibirsk Oblast delegation to Minsk, Belarus Deputy Transport and Communications Minister Aleksei Lyakhnovich held talks with the Minister of Transport and Road Management of the Russian region Anatoly Kostylevsky. The meeting was also attended by deputy director of Minsk National Airport Vasily Kornev, Director General of Belavia Anatoly Gusarov, and other representatives of aviation organizations.
"The parties examined the prospects for launching a direct air service between Novosibirsk and Minsk and agreed to explore possible options for its performance by Belavia and Siberia airlines on a parity basis," the ministry informs.
The airports of Minsk and Novosibirsk, Belavia and S7 airlines will work out appropriate proposals which will be discussed during the next meeting.
