MINSK, 18 September (BelTA) – At a session of the Presidium of the Council of Ministers Prime Minister of Belarus Aleksandr Turchin explained in what manner information should be presented in the program designed to guide Belarus’ social and economic development in 2026-2030, BelTA has learned.
A forecast document of utmost importance that determines the strategy of developing the country in the medium term – the program on Belarus’ social and economic development for the next five-year term – has been presented for consideration of the Council of Ministers’ Presidium. The head of state approved the program’s concept back in May, Aleksandr Turchin noted. The Economy Ministry was tasked with using the concept to prepare a calibrated and efficient document that will become the foundation of Belarus’ successful development for the next five years.
“In order for the program to be live and real as per the head of state’s instructions, it was necessary to improve approaches to its execution, ensuring 100% interlinking with the tools of its realization: state programs, industry-specific programs, and regional programs. The program on the country’s social and economic development should not live its own life. All the tools and resources the government has should be geared towards its execution. With this in mind subprogram documents need to determine stages for carrying out tasks and need to set intermediate goals. They will be used to evaluate the work of executives every year,” the prime minister noted.
The five-year program is a program on developing the state, Aleksandr Turchin added. “Not a program on building roads or on building housing but a complex document that, in simple and understandable terms, will give answers to the questions of how the economy of our country will develop within the next five years, what priority development avenues have been determined, and most importantly how all of it will influence the quality of life of our citizens in any part of the country,” the head of government pointed out.
Once it is considered by the government, the program will be submitted for consideration of the Belarusian People’s Congress.
