Gomel Open Karate Championship to gather participants from Belarus, Russia

GOMEL, 23 January (BelTA) – The Gomel Open Karate Championship will gather over 200 participants from Belarus and Russia in the oblast center on 27 January, BelTA learned from the organizing committee of the competitions.

Athletes, aged four to 13, will represent Gomel Oblast of Belarus and Bryansk Oblast of Russia. The competitions will be held in Gymnasium No.10. There will be a total of 49 medal events in four disciplines.

“The Gomel Open Karate Championship has been held since 2016. Young athletes have a good chance to reach national and international competitions,” the organizing committee said. The competitions help athletes hone their skills, strengthen international cooperation, and popularize a healthy lifestyle.

Among the organizers of the competitions are the youth public association Gomel Oblast Karate Federation, the department of education sport and tourism of the Gomel City Hall, the Gomel center of additional education for children and the youth, Gomel Gymnasium No.10.
