In May 2018 Argentinean legendary football player Diego Maradona signed a three-year contract to join the Belarusian club Dinamo Brest as their new chairman.
Diego Maradona willing to settle down in Belarus
Diego Maradona thanked FC Dynamo Brest for the invitation to chair the football club's board. “I saw that it is a serious project. If I end my career in Brest, I may stay here to live,” said the former player of the Argentinian national football team.
On 16 July Diego Maradona attended Dinamo Brest vs Shakhtyor match which ended in 3-1 in favor of Shakhtyor.
Diego Maradona eager to meet Belarus president
“Certainly, I'd love to meet him. I have great flashbacks about Fidel, Chavez, Maduro, and Ortega. I also know Putin. Now I would like to take a photo together with [Belarus President Alexander] Lukashenko,” said the FC Dynamo Brest chairman of the board.
