BREST, 16 July (BelTA) – The legendary football player Diego Maradona would like to meet the Belarus president. The football player made the relevant statement at a press conference in Brest on 16 July, BelTA has learned.
“Certainly, I'd love to meet him. I have great flashbacks about Fidel, Chavez, Maduro, and Ortega. I also know Putin. Now I would like to take a photo together with [Belarus President Alexander] Lukashenko. I hope that he will become our fan after that and our project with FC Dynamo Brest will benefit Belarusian football,” said the FC Dynamo Brest chairman of the board.
Diego Maradona noted that every country has its own kind of football and the latest world championship had proved it. “Every country, every region has its own type of the game. I believe that we should be stronger in mental and physical sense. I'd love to take a step forward together with the club so that the club would get better day after day. We will try to make a team capable of fighting for the best rankings so that entire Belarus could be proud of it,” stressed Diego Maradona.
