MINSK, 10 September (BelTA) – Alexandra Bell of the UK won the women's 800m event at the ongoing Match Europe v USA in Minsk on 9 September, BelTA has learned.
The UK athlete clocked 2:04.81 to finish first. Second was Olha Lyakhova of Ukraine (2:04.90). Sierra Brown of the United States placed third (2:05.38).
Belarus' Yuliya Karol crossed the finish line sixth, clocking 2:05.82 and earning three points for Team Europe.
Josh Thompson of the United States was victorious in the men's 1,500m (3:38.88). He was followed by UK's Jake Wightman (3:38.90) and Ben Blankenship of the USA (3:39.63).
