Belarus' Ilya Ivashka breaks into ATP Top 100

MINSK, 13 August (BelTA) – Ilya Ivashka of Belarus has made it into the ATP Top 100 for the first time in his career, BelTA has learned.

A week ago the 24-year-old Belarusian was 125th. After reaching the round of Last 16 at the Rogers Cup in Toronto the player moved into the ATP Top 100 with 559 points. Vladimir Ignatik of Belarus is currently 209th with 270 points. Egor Gerasimov sits 264th with 210 points.

The ATP rankings are topped by Spain's Rafael Nadal who won his 80th champion title in Toronto.

In the WTA rankings Belarus' Aryna Sabalenka is 34th with 1,405 points, Aliaksandra Sasnovich is 36th (1,363 points), Vera Lapko is 66th (879 points), and Victoria Azarenka is 87th (761 points). This week three Belarusian players are taking part in the Western & Southern Open 2018 in Cincinnati. Victoria Azarenka will take on Spain's world number 27 Carla Suarez Navarro, Aliaksandra Sasnovich will face Slovakia's world number 56 Viktoria Kuzmova and Aryna Sabalenka will play British world number 39 Johanna Konta.
