Conflicting parties in Ukraine once again exchange POWs

MINSK, 24 February (BelTA) – The conflicting parties in Ukraine have resumed POW exchanges, BelTA learned from Martin Sajdik, the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office's special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine, on 24 February.

“After quite a lengthy break in releasing the illegally detained some shifts we've been looking forward to have happened at last. On 20 February ten people were released, including six by the Ukrainian government and four by individual districts of Donetsk Oblast,” said Martin Sajdik.

Apart from that, plans have been made to release another group on 26 February. The Ukrainian government will release eight people while Donetsk Oblast will release four.

“I would like to thank everyone, who contributed to the operation and took part in it. We hope that soon we will witness more POW releases,” noted the OSCE special representative.
