MINSK, 27 April (BelTA) – Belarus is ready to expand cooperation in trade, economy and investments with Türkiye, Belarus' Economy Minister Yuri Chebotar said as he met with Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to the Republic of Belarus Güçlü Cem Işık, BelTA learned from the press service of the Economy Ministry.

According to the economy minister, intensive bilateral contacts at various levels helped the two countries build balanced and mutually beneficial cooperation across the board.

Yuri Chebotar emphasized that Türkiye is one of Belarus’s promising trading partners.

“In 2023, Türkiye was Belarus' sixth biggest trading partner and the eighth biggest export destination. It is noteworthy that bilateral trade has been on the up: for the third year in a row, our trade has exceeded a billion mark. Over the past four years, the trade in services has been growing, too. The Economy Ministry is ready to continue negotiations on an agreement on free trade in services. Investments are another reserve we can tap into to give our cooperation an additional boost. Belarus is ready to step up efforts to intensify this area of cooperation,” noted Yuri Chebotar.
