STOLBTSY DISTRICT, 30 December (BelTA) – The fact that all kinds of shocks and misfortunes happened somewhere else instead of Belarus is the key event of the year 2016, BelTA learned from Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 30 December.
In particular, the head of state was asked what event of the eventful year of 2016 had had or would have the greatest effect on Belarus. “The fact that troubles and misfortunes happened somewhere else instead of our country was the most important event,” stated the Belarusian leader.
Alexander Lukashenko also mentioned as important the fact that more kids were born in Belarus in 2016 than in previous years of the country's independence. The birth rate in Belarus now exceeds the mortality rate, which means the nation grows larger, noted the President.
