Russia, Ukraine to discuss in Minsk restoration of power lines in conflict zone

MINSK, 7 September (BelTA) – Representatives of Russia and Ukraine will meet in Minsk to discuss the restoration of power lines in the conflict zone in Ukraine, BelTA learned from Martin Sajdik, the OSCE's special representative in the trilateral contact group on Ukraine, in Minsk on 7 September.

According to the source, representatives of Russia and Ukraine have agreed to arrange a meeting of top officials of the energy ministries in Minsk on 21 September when the trilateral contact group on Ukraine is supposed to resume talks. Matters concerning the restoration of power lines in the Ukrainian conflict zone will be discussed.

The restoration of railways was in focus on the 7 September talks of the subgroup on economic affairs. The sides reached an agreement to launch transportation by rail along the Popasnaya-Stakhanov line and to finalize the restoration of the Nikitovka-Mayorsk line.
