CEI foreign ministers gathering in Minsk for 22 June meeting

MINSK, 21 June (BelTA) - The foreign ministers of the Central European Initiative countries are arriving in Minsk for the annual meeting on 22 June, BelTA has learned.

The Belarusian capital will welcome Serbia's First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ivica Dacic, Slovakian Minister of Foreign and European Affairs Miroslav Lajcak, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Bosnia and Herzegovina Igor Crnadak, Deputy Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Lukas Kaucky, Undersecretary of State for Foreign Affairs Vincenzo Amendola of Italy.

Taking part in the event will be CEI Alternate Secretary General Margot Klestil-Loffler and Secretary General of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development Enzo Quattrociocche.

It is expected that the forum will also be attended by delegations from Austria, Hungary, Moldova, Romania, Poland, Croatia, Montenegro, Bulgaria, Slovenia, and Ukraine.

The meeting will focus on the growing role of the CEI member states in promoting connectivity and interoperability among various integration processes in a Wider Europe. In particular, the ministers will discuss efforts to tackle new threats to regional stability and economic cooperation between different integration associations. The CEI foreign ministers are also set to exchange views on reforming the CEI in the context of new challenges and developments that have occurred in Central and South-West Europe over the last decade.
