Yegorov weighs in on Belarus’ economic outlook in 2024

MINSK, 29 April (BelTA) – Belarus looks to achieve this year's economic indicators in full, Deputy Head of the Belarus President Administration Aleksandr Yegorov said in an interview to Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA has learned.

According to Aleksandr Yegorov, this year most of the economic indicators are being fulfilled at the optimal level. “We have good GDP and investment levels. Inflation is also at an acceptable level, taking into account seasonal factors. In general, we can say that the indicators are being fulfilled,” he said. “There are reserves, and there is confidence in the fulfillment of indicators in 2024. I think these indicators will be achieved in full.”

The deputy head of the Belarus President Administration added that the forecast for 2025 should be formed in such a way as to bring the indicators of five-year development closer to those laid down in the social and economic development program. “This is necessary to keep the responsibility for the implementation of the five-year program before the Belarusian People's Congress. Next year we should lay the foundations of economic growth for the next five years, 2026-2030. This applies to the beginning of various investment programs, signing of long-term export contracts, and changes in the legislation, which will help us work in the new five-year program,” Aleksandr Yegorov said.
