Work to improve tax regulations continues in Belarus

MINSK, 1 December (BelTA) – Belarusian MPs will continue working hard together with the business community for the sake of further improving the tax legislation and simplifying the tax system, BelTA learned from Lyudmila Dobrynina, Chairwoman of the Budget and Finance Commission of the House of Representatives of the National Assembly of Belarus, on 1 December.

According to the source, Belarusian MPs work constructively with the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurs. Belarusian MPs are regularly invited to discuss the Confederation's proposals concerning the private sector. In turn, members of the parliament carefully look into proposals of the business community, including proposals submitted by businessmen from their electoral districts. The Chairwoman of the Budget and Finance Commission underlined that stable tax legislation had been secured in Belarus. The fact is particularly important for the private sector. “It is necessary to preserve the state of affairs without increasing the tax burden on the economy in addition to working to further simplify tax administration,” she said.

The MP pointed out that certain stability of the monetary management policy has been achieved this year. The refinancing rate of the central bank has been reduced several times, making loans for small and medium businesses more affordable. Belarusian businessmen could not pass up on the opportunity. Lyudmila Dobrynina was confident that if the trends stay in place, considerable shifts with regard to the implementation of investment projects will be secured, too.

Belarusian MPs are expanding the geography of cooperation with business communities. The first meeting with representatives of the public interest organization Taxpayers Association of Ukraine took place in the parliament on 1 December. The sides discussed ways to improve tax and budget legislation as well as interaction with the expert community as part of the legislative process.

The Taxpayers Association of Ukraine was established in 1999. The association represents and protects rights, economic, social interests and other interests of Ukrainian taxpayers at all levels. Apart from that, the association coordinates and consolidates actions of its members in the sphere of social and labor relations as well as economic relations. In September 2016 the Taxpayers Association of Ukraine signed a memorandum of cooperation with the Republican Confederation of Entrepreneurs of Belarus.
