Slutsk Yeast Plant plans to reach full capacity in 2019

SLUTSK, 16 February (BelTA) – Slutsk Yeast Plant plans to reach the full capacity in 2019, Chairman of Belgospishcheprom Concern Alexander Zabello reported to Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko on 16 February, BelTA has learned.

“We launched the plant on 29 June 2017. It started operating in August. Yes, the level of utilization is not high at the first stage: about 23% of the designed capacity. But we are planning to produce 18,000 tonnes of yeast this year and reach the full capacity next year,” Alexander Zabello said.

He explained that the production capacity of the plant is 20,000 tonnes of yeast per year. The plant can ramp up the output several times without building additional facilities.

“You need to operate properly. All matters should be resolved within a year,” said Alexander Lukashenko.

The head of state added that no special conditions will be created for the successful operation of the plant. There are other similar manufacturers in the country and they also need to sell their products.
