Rahmon shows interest in Belarusian elevators, suggests assembly plant in Tajikistan

DUSHANBE, 15 May (BelTA) – During a visit to Belarus' National Expo in Dushanbe Tajikistan President Emomali Rahmon got familiar with the elevators made by Mogilevliftmash and suggested setting up an assembly facility in Tajikistan, BelTA has learned.

The Tajikistan leader was briefed in detail about the Mogilevliftmash goods. The possibility to set up an assembly plant was welcomed. However, it was suggested analyzing the economic feasibility of the project first. The project will make economic sense if the output is not fewer than 500 elevators a year.

Emomali Rahmon ordered to work through this issue. “Let's scrutinize this issue. We need such a joint facility here. This project will create jobs. We will cater not only to the capital but also the entire country," he said.
