MOSCOW, 18 January (BelTA-TASS) – Russia considers it necessary to speed up the development of digital economy in the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), Russia President Vladimir Putin said in his address to heads of EAEU member states published on the Kremlin website on 18 January, BelTA informs.
"We assume that it is necessary to accelerate the implementation of the whole ‘digital agenda' of the EAEU and to coordinate efforts to develop ‘Internet economy', formulate common digital trade rules and equal information exchange and protection standards," reads the statement.
The Russian leader also called for enacting high technologies in public administration, industry, customs regulation systems and other fields, as well as "launching joint competitive, innovative and knowledge-intensive industries".
