ASHGABAT, 12 June (BelTA) – Belarus and Turkmenistan have agreed to greatly expand the choice of Belarusian machines that are traded, BelTA learned from Prime Minister of Belarus Mikhail Myasnikovich after his negotiations with Turkmenistan President Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in Ashgabat on 12 June.
The Belarusian Prime Minister remarked that in the near future Turkmenistan will get several grain harvesters and forage harvesters as well as three kinds of buses for testing purposes. He remarked that Belarus offers only state-of-the-art products to Turkmenistan, which are competitive on global markets. The buses were received well during the ice hockey world championship in Minsk and during the Sochi Olympics.
Apart from that, Belarus is ready to supply more machines to Turkmenistan. Applications for 2,250 vehicles have been submitted and the vehicles are to be delivered this year. According to the Prime Minister, Belarus could supply more. A number of ministries and regional authorities of Turkmenistan need it, he remarked.
Forecasting what Belarusian machines and equipment or investment projects Turkmenistan may need in the future was another important matter that was discussed. According to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the matter can be finally resolved during the forthcoming visit of Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedow in October 2014.
On the whole, according to the Prime Minister, very productive talks took place on 12 June. Multiple aspects of bilateral cooperation were discussed starting with mutual trade and ending with the implementation of a number of investment projects. The construction of the Garlyk mining and processing factory was discussed in detail. The possibility of delivering Belarusian elevators will be considered. A major program for repairing and modernizing the housing stock is in progress in Turkmenistan, said Mikhail Myasnikovich. He continued: “Apart from delivering elevators we suggest possible joint production in Turkmenistan taking into account that the volumes will make the joint venture effective”. The President of Turkmenistan backed the idea.
On the whole, according to Mikhail Myasnikovich, the sides have great prospects, including in the area of innovation cooperation.
